As far as am I aware, at the time of writing, there is little, if anything in the English language to be found on the internet concerning Benny. There is, of course, his own website. There's an article on Wikipedia, and Google can turn up plenty of references to him, but unless the reader understands the Dutch language, that wont be very helpful. So, that is my motive for putting these pages together.

I first became aware of his music back in 1985 while on vacation in Holland. As I wandered around, I would pass cafe after cafe, from which would drift the most haunting song I had ever heard. I stopped at one such cafe, ordered a coffee, and asked a rather bemused waitress about the song on the radio.

Needless to say, I soon found a record shop, and bought a copy of a song called -
" Waarom Fluister Ik Je Naam Nog " The rest, as they say, is history . . .

Over the next few pages, I would like to tell you a little about the man, and in so doing, maybe you will come to understand why he became such an inspiration to me.
